Our Terms and Conditions

Please read carefully as bookings are accepted subject to the following conditions:

1. Booking

To make a booking please complete the enclosed booking form and return it with the payment required. We can also take payment by card over the phone. We are happy to accept provisional bookings by telephone or email, but please confirm with a completed booking form and payment within ten days.

2. Payment
Full payment should be made at time of booking or, if booking more than 2 months before the start of a tour, a minimum 50% of the total fee can be accepted as a deposit. Full payment is required when booking less than 2 months before the tour start date. Upon receipt of your completed booking form and payment we will send you a confirmation letter (and an invoice showing date on which full payment is due if necessary). A contract will exist between us from the date we issue the confirmation letter. If you choose to pay a deposit the balance must be paid a minimum of  2 months prior to the tour start date. We fully comply with the Package Travel Regulations 1992 in respect of all payments received.

3. Changing your booking

Should you need to change your booking please contact us immediately; we will do our best to accommodate any changes.

4. Cancellation

Cancellation by us: In the unlikely event of us having to cancel a tour we will offer an alternative tour or refund any payments you have made. We will notify you at least 4 weeks before the start of the tour. This will not apply in circumstances beyond our control (see section 11 below). It is your responsibility to cancel any other arrangements that you have made e.g. travel and non-inclusive accommodation. We may be obliged to cancel an event if insufficient bookings are taken.

Cancellation by you: if you cancel more than 60 days prior to the start of the tour we will refund 50% of your booking fee, 31-59 days and we will refund 30% of the booking fee. If you cancel less than 31 days before the start of the tour we will not be able to refund any booking fee. This policy is necessary, as we need to pre-book facilities. Contact us directly if you need to cancel and then confirm in writing.

5. Accuracy of information

We have taken every care to ensure that the details in our current brochure and on our website are accurate. All reasonable effort has been made to ensure that any stated tours, visits, guides, guest speakers, accommodation, services, activities or prices will be as described. However for reasons beyond our control we cannot guarantee that itineraries and programmes will be followed as published. You will be notified of any changes as soon as possible.

6. Complaints

If you feel that you have any comments or complaints to make about your tour please inform us during the tour and we will try to resolve any problems as soon as possible. If you feel the problem has not been resolved please contact us in writing no later than 28 days after the end of the tour.

7. Insurance

Lindum Heritage has limited public liability insurance appropriate for all our activities; however we strongly recommend that you have personal travel insurance suitable for the nature of the activity in force for the duration of your tour.

8. Evening meal

Where indicated the cost of one or more evening meals is included in the fee for a weekend or midweek break. This meal will be a minimum of a three-course meal possibly from a limited menu at the designated hotel or a restaurant of our choice. Drinks are not included. No other meals or drinks are included in the fee for your break unless specified in the brochure. Tips and gratuities are not included.

9. Special requests or needs

We will do our utmost to respond positively to any special requests or needs, we cannot however guarantee that we will be able to meet any such requests. We fully comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.

10. Fitness

Our tours do involve some walking, including steep hills and steps. Some tours include one or more guided walks that may last for up to 2 hours. Some archaeological activities can be strenuous. Bookings are accepted on the understanding that you appreciate the possible risks inherent in such activities. We are happy to advise you if you have any questions or special needs.

11. Force majeure

Lindum Heritage cannot be held responsible for any disruption or changes in tour arrangements due to adverse or unusual weather conditions, situations arising from force majeure or industrial action, or failure of provision by third parties. In such circumstances no compensation will be available.

12. Non-participating partners

Our locations and hotels are specifically chosen to provide the best environment to enjoy both our tour experiences and also the attractions and activities in the local area. Non-participating partners are welcome to attend the wine reception and introductory lecture on weekend and midweek breaks. They are also welcome at the evening dinners, but there will be an additional charge to cover any extra meals. Attendance at any other element of the tour will require payment of an additional fee.

13. Accommodation

Accommodation is included in the fee for our short breaks. Lindum Heritage cannot be held responsible for any problems or omissions arising in connection with an accommodation provider. We are unable to guarantee a particular room or hotel. Accommodation booked by us is on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis (unless otherwise specified within the brochure for specific tours) and will not include any extras.
